"Speech" refers to how we produce sounds and words with our articulators (tongue, lips, jaw, teeth, vocal folds, air flow). Speech includes articulation, voice, and fluency (stuttering).
"Language" refers to the system of words and symbols (spoke, written, signed language) used to communicate meaning. Language includes both expressive language (the language we use) and receptive language (the language we understand).
Intervention for articulation, motor planning, and phonological disorders increases speech intelligibility by teaching your child how to make and use their speech sounds correctly through structured play-based activities.
Intervention for expressive, receptive, and pragmatic (social) language disorders to help your child become a more effective communicator across a variety of environments with different communication partners.
Play-based therapy works best for children ages birth to three. Our early intervention services include parent education and coaching to help you support your child's communication.
Intervention for stuttering/cluttering increases your child’s ability to communicate confidently through activities focused on education/awareness/beliefs about stuttering/cluttering and through developing individualized communication strategies.
