Rachel created Speakeasy Speech Therapy to provide a therapy experience that is designed to be help your child reach their full potential across their environments. Speakeasy combines play-based and clinician directed treatment in order to challenge your child and to help ensure carryover and growth of skills. Rachel has experience working in private practice, collaborating with parents, caregivers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and ABA therapists. Prior to becoming a SLP, Rachel volunteered her time at Esperanza Special Education School as well as working for the city of Laguna Hills, developing and running early childhood programs and the Circle of Friends program to encourage friendships and social skills for those with special needs. Rachel has been a licensed speech-language pathologist in California since 2018 and has held her ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence since 2019. When Rachel is not in the office, she enjoys traveling with her husband and daughter, Colt and Delaney, racing off-road, and spending time with her family.
Laurie is excited to be at Speakeasy working with Rachel again after working together for a few years prior. Laurie loves getting to know her clients and their families and considers it a privilege to help kids reach their goals. Laurie has worked with people throughout her career, as a health educator, fitness instructor, and helping her own kids in the classrooms, at the school, and in their sports and activities. Laurie is looking forward to working with the Speakeasy families. In her spare time, Laurie enjoys staying active, working out, reading, baking, watching sunrises, and spending time with family and friends.
